Getting to the trailhead involves a fairly long drive on gravel roads but you don’t need a high clearance vehicle to get in. The hike in involves elevation gain, glacier travel, and finding you way through a rock ridge. If you can’t find the route through the ridge you may get turned back. Once on top of the ridge you get into meadows and the Mark Kingsbury Hut. The hut is small and best suited for 4 or less people. We were so impressed with the terrain that we decided to come back in the winter to ski tour.
